Adventure Class - High Ropes Course
via Camp Joy Facebook
One of the most highly anticipated events of the Joy experience is the Adventure Class. The fourth class that each trail group gets the opportunity to experience is the Adventure Class, where students get the chance to climb 30+ feet into the air on one of Joy's High Ropes Courses. While up on the ropes, students can complete over 10 elements, and try the zip line. Now 30+ feet is certainly not something to sneeze at. Actually, several students are simply not comfortable with the idea climbing that high off the ground, let alone walking across a single cable in mid-air. This is where Camp Joy officially introduces students to their philosophy of "Challenge by Choice". Joy's philosophy of "Challenge by Choice" was designed to meet each student at their personal comfort zone. This philosophy empowers students to make their own decisions, challenge themselves, set goals, and even learn to step outside their comfort zones. The "Challenge by Choice" philosophy ensures that if a student is not comfortable trying something, they have the power to make the decision to do or not to do.
